Q Mark Receives NCQA HEDIS® Software Certification

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado¬ (May 19, 2009)––Q Mark was awarded the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Certification for HEDISHelp, its 2009 Healthcare Effectiveness and Data Information Set (HEDIS®) software. The software package offers clients numerous options and combinations, producing quick and accurate HEDIS results. In addition to full certification, Q Mark also received Partial Software Certification status confirming the software tests a subset of the HEDIS measurement set for the Integrated Healthcare Association’s Pay for Performance clinical measurement set. This is an innovative effort employing standardized measures to evaluate physician performance and reward those achieving a high level of quality of care.

HEDISHelp software is designed to mine health plan data, collect relevant information and calculate results. NCQA validates HEDIS software by generating unique sets of clinical and utilization data and compares the output to the expected results to accuracy correctness. The automated process provides for a precise and comprehensive review of the software logic. Health plans that use NCQA-certified software for HEDIS data collection are not required to undergo manual source code review during the HEDIS compliance audit, which is a component of NCQA accreditation and other oversight programs.
